Trinity Infants Centre was won as the result of a competitive tendering process. The project was completed in 2016 over one of the wettest winters we have had for many, many years. Being toward the bottom corner of the site where all surface water runs to made things more difficult but the end result is one of which we are quite proud.
With a small administration area at one end and amenities at the other the majority of this building is comprised of six large teaching areas which can be closed of via multifold glazed door systems or opened up to become one large space. A central atrium allows plenty of natural light to fill the building and incorporates five large pendant lights serving the dual purpose of lighting and sound deadening. The plasterboard walls are predominantly perforated board of the new modern style with continuous perforations rather than small panels.
The building is built around a structural steel frame with a combination of rendered masonry and sheet metal wall cladding and a Tridek sandwich panel composite roof.
At the Master Builder’s Regional awards on Friday 16th June, 2017, Southern Cross Developers were awarded the Winner of the $2 to$3million section “Best Commercial Project”, as the builder of the Trinity Infants Centre.
