HPA Buffalo Expansion

Southern Cross Developers was once again engaged by Hops Products Australia (HPA) to deliver the Buffalo Expansion, reinforcing a long-standing relationship built on quality, reliability and successful project delivery. Constructed on a greenfield site in Merriang South, Victoria, the project involved the construction of a new purpose-built hops processing plant designed to increase processing capacity and support the future growth of Australia's thriving brewing industry.

The project presented a number of unique challenges, most notably being constructed during the devastating bushfires that impacted New South Wales and Victoria throughout early 2020. Despite the difficult conditions, our team maintained a strong focus on safety, planning and communication, ensuring construction continued efficiently while adapting to changing site conditions and external challenges.

Completed in February 2020 with a project value of $5 million, the Buffalo Expansion demonstrates Southern Cross Developers' ability to successfully deliver complex industrial projects in demanding environments. Through careful project management, experienced construction teams and a commitment to quality workmanship, the new processing facility was delivered to support HPA's continued success and long-term operational growth.
